iPGMail App Reviews

Fills the PGP encryption gap on iOS superbly

I found iPGMail after trying a couple of other products that seemed to have issues and non-responsive developers. This one just worked for me. Well worth it by any measure. The PGP scene for iOS seems to be either really expensive alternatives, or those tied to Symantec services, or apps that dont quite work. This one is none of those, and thats good. Glad I stumbled across this one!

Works well, including easy key import

Love this! I did key import via AirDrop from my Mac, no problem.

Great app

This app is the best PGP implementation on iOS. Keybase.io support was a welcome surprise. Thanks!

Great App

This is the best pgp app on iOS. While a little cumbersome to use, it allows you to encrypt both messages and attachments which can either be sent out via the app, or copied to the clipboard and sent out using the iPhone mail app or other mail tool.

Works well as advertised.

After little configuration I was able to send and receive encrypted email. Not quite as seamless as on a MAC but still excellent!

Good given its limits

Works well despite the limitations of iOS. Its a bit cumbersome but it can certainly accomplish what its intended to do.

Good

Good app, I was able to import and use my PGP keys.

Worth the price

Just started using OpenPGP on my iMac and after reading an article on iPad - iPhone PGP apps, I decided to give this one a try. I did struggle a bit getting it set up but I did get it working fine once this was done. I had a question that was not covered in the support pages and the developer got back to me very quickly and answered my question. A real good sign and I appreciate his help. I would highly recommend this app and have told my friends and family about it.

The Digital 5th

Gotta be honest, Freedom takes work! This does add a few steps and some getting use to, but it seems worth it! Thank you

The best PGP app Ive tried

PGP and iOS still dont mix well, but this app makes checking encrypted email on the road possible, a huge help as I increasingly leave my laptop behind. Continued updates, particularly with the share ribbons, have made it relatively simple to pop back and forth when reading and decrypting mail, and at this point its just about as intuitive as as the typical setup on a Mac.

Works fine

Simple interface. Works great in iOS. Intuitive.

Couldnt find any problems

I imported my private key via Dropbox by following the iPGMail guide on the website. Then I imported an asc file from Dropbox, decrypted it, and read it in rtf format. Finally, I composed an asc encrypted email attachment and it was correctly sent using iPGMail default settings and a gmail account. It worked as expected. Thanks for a great app.

Best Available - Keep Pushing

Excellent work, this is the pgp app to get. You may be surprised the number of users simply bypassing your email setup and using copy paste to encrypt from a note pad (can anyone recommend a good plain text note pad). I understand the clipboard supports this as an afterthought. Id love to see you help those who wont you email but just your otherwise straightforward pgp encrypt/decrypt.

Nice iOS app for experienced PGP users.

If youre here youre probably already experienced with PGP. This is a pretty nicely done toolkit for iOS. I would love to see automatic sync with GPGKeychain for OS X.

Easy and secure

I correspond with people in many countries, but sadly we require this to deter domestic spying, not foreign. Nothing is unbreakable, therefore imperfect.

Great app for GPG usage on the iPhone.

One of the few apps Ive found that work well with GPG. Includes integration with keybase as well. Developer also puts out relatively quick fixes.

Great for PGP encrypted emails

Now I need more friends that use PGP! This app works As expected. It was easy to import my private key (or I could have created a new key easily). I can also download publics keys very easily. The app didnt crash and worked smoothly on my 4S. I definitely recommend this app for someone looking for a working PGP app on iOS.

Incorrectly reports bad signatures

Version 2.9.0 appears to report all signed messages as having bad signatures. The same messages verify correctly in MacGPG2 2.0.27. Issue applies to messages signed by both DSA and RSA keys. This is on an iPhone 5S running iOS 8.4. Hope the author can fix it soon. Review for 2.8.4: My keyring was deleted when I upgraded from version 2.7.4 to 2.8.4 on both my iPad and iPhone running iOS 8.2. Backup your keyring!

BEST App For Encryption Available In The App Store Now + Fantastic Updates!

FANTASTIC! Easily the best in its class. Phillip Zimmerman would be proud! Another GREAT UPDATE today! Thanks! **Especially since TrueCrypt is TOAST! Historically, the best encryption method available for private use, especially for email. Open source code (allows public review for any back-doors and government/"state" insertion of malware...) and banned by many third world governments due to its strength. I have been using PGP since Philip Zimmerman (MIT inventor) put it on university bulletin board at MIT!! It was DOS back then, LOL. This app, by far, is the best encryption app currently available. Developer constantly performs updates and improves. THIS IS MILITARY GRADE ENCRYPTION with a proven history to thwart hacking from hostile/illegal foreign & domestic government ("State" malware) snooping and professional hackers. Best encryption platform then, and still is. Has MASSIVE key-strenth! 4096 bit key!!

Good app

I needed pgp on iOS and this does the trick. Its quite barebones and the ui isnt flashy but the most important part is that it works.
